The perks of living at Geylang Serai.
Convenient access to yummylicious Dendeng, thinly sliced preserved marinated meat, usually made from halal beef or chicken. Similar to the Chinese version of Bakwa.

Bought the chilli beef dendeng, 250g for $10 from the Dendeng House across the road, beside Joo Chiat Complex, along Har Yassin Eatery. Perhaps will buy the frozen ones in the near future, 1kg for only $28, and I will just dump them into the air-fryer. Heh.

In search of the best Maggie Goreng in Singapore...

Maggie Goreng. A comfort food in its own right.

Had the pleasure to have a quick lunch with fellow colleagues just now. We went to the nearby Mr. Teh Tarik coffee shop at Khatib. I like Maggie Goreng but I was not sure if the one prepared here was alright and palatable because I have had my fair share of bland and tasteless Maggie Goreng before.

Decided to give it a try and it tasted good actually! Served warm and I like it. It cost $4 for a plate. Now I am thinking, perhaps I should start searching for the best Maggie Goreng in Singapore... Heh.

Review: Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Beanstro Dinner at Marina Square

Was in town with Hubster and Little Munchkin yesterday and chose to have our dinner  at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Beanstro Marina Square.. I was a tad apprehensive initially as I can still remember vividly a rather disappointing meal I once had at the one at MBS a few years ago when it just opened....

Anyways we decided to still give it a try..  I ordered the All-day Ultimate Breakfast to be shared with my little one while Hubster had the tomato based spaghetti with scallop and prawns..  Found out that any pasta dish ordered actually comes with free flow of Soup of the Day which you can help yourself with at a corner of the restaurant..

The Ultimate Breakfast was impressionable actually, the beef patty was not dry at all despite being quite thick.. It was in fact flavourful and juicy... The bacon strips were not dry too, yay!

The tomato sauce for the spaghetti seemed like it was made from scratch, which is always a plus point for any pasta dish, while the scallop and prawns are generously-sized... Soup of the day was Minestrone Soup , which is just "normal"  tasting, nothing much to rave about...

The restaurant has no service charge, but they will serve the food to your table when it is ready.. Drinks however have to be self-collected at the usual collection point though.. For families with toddlers, baby chairs are  provided..

All in all, quite satisfied with the food, price is comparable to Swensens...  Will definitely dine there again if we happen to be around the area....  Now I just need to make sure to remember to take photos of all food items I am reviewing (forgot to snap the Minestrone Soup!) and try to perfect my skill of taking better flattering angles of the food..  Heh.

The Famous Air Fryer

Ok I am an avid fan of the air fryer.. Just dump the foodstuff in and let the machine do it's magic... I just love the fact there is no splattering of oil (no mess in the kitchen!) and you don't have to add any oil whatsoever...

There are so many air fryer recipes out there and there are many more air fryer gurus on social media who are always willing to share tips on how to maximise the air fryer to its fullest potential...
Just for starters today... A quick tea-time snack for the family, I airfried some fries and animal-shaped fish nuggets.... Simple and easy without compromising taste and texture... Will definitely experiment more airfryer food adventures in due time...

Hello hello!

It's been awhile..  A long while..  It's an ambitious quest no doubt, to revive this blog again.. Will try my best to pen some posts, as often as I possibly can, whenever time permits....

Perhaps I should include reviews of any makan places and of course any new recipes I may attempt to cook...  And I guess it's also the perfect opportunity for me to practice food styling and food photography....  Hehe...

So let's watch this space...  See ya!
